Our Annual Christmas Dinner yesterday was as successful as ever. A fine dinner was complemented by carol singing and the great company of our wives, partners, and friends. A bumper raffle raised over £200, which will be donated to our Worshipful Master's charities of the year, Parkinson's UK and The Brain Tumour Charity. Well done to those who organised and ran the evening, especially to Paul.

There followed an auction and grand raffle, by the end of the day over £1,000 was raised for local charities. Thanks and congratulations must go to Our Worshipful Master, Paul Gausden, and Bob Chevin who organised and hosted the afternoon.

At our meeting yesterday, we were pleased to welcome a group from Innsworth Lodge no. 8751 (one of our sister lodges) from Gloucester. The lodge presented a demonstration/lecture entitled "Illumination to Initiation".
This was an Initiation Ceremony, which included added explanation of various elements. It was organised by our Director of Ceremonies - Paul Benham, and was very well received by all who attended. At the same meeting the election of next year's Worshipful Master took place, and we congratulate Paul Benhem, and wish him well for a successful year.

The day of our January meeting was a very special one for Fred Henley, who celebrated his 92nd birthday on the same day. Following the meeting of the lodge, the usual festive board was supplemented with a wonderful birthday cake and a card for Fred, as well as the traditional rendition of 'Happy Birthday to You'. I'm reliably informed that there were 92 chocolate buttons on the cake

The lodge initiated Oliver Seymour, who was just 19 years old and the son of a past master of the lodge. His father, Joseph took part in the ceremony by presenting a charge to the Initiate that was full of emotion. Joseph joined Pegasus Lodge as an Initiate in 1998, when Oliver was just 3 years old.
The required Dispensation to allow for an initiation of someone under 21 years was granted by the Provincial Grand Master, Gordon Robinson.
The Worshipful Master, W.Bro Paul Gausden presided over a most enjoyable evening, which was attended by many visitors, including a group from Hermes Lodge no. 5532, one of our sister lodges.
